The NCIS team must work on an assignment against a terrorist group without Gibbs, who is still recovering from the explosion. Gibbs has to fight with memory loss, while he's visited by his mentor and his former boss. His help is needed, expecially when the team discovers that Gibbs is the only person who has informations about the terrorists' plans, so he needs to retrieve his memory before the terrorists attack.

I saw a review for this episode that really pissed me off, and therefore I shall rant!  In the review, the reviewer wrote that they didn't like this episode because they found it to be too over the top, etc and that it looked as if the writers suddenly had to invent a secret past for Gibbs. This person obviously did not pay attention! That past has been hinted to several times in previous episodes. I can't remember which ones exactly but I do remember a particular example where Gibbs quieted a crying baby and Tony asked him if he had any kids and Gibbs just kinda glared at him. There have been many moments that have hinted that Gibbs was once a father. There are several little hints that there is something more to Gibbs than what Gibbs lets on. He never talks about his life or past which indicates there is something there that he does not want to talk about. Something horrible and tragic. It seemed to me that this person did not pay attention. Of course, maybe I just paid too much attention (I'm a writer, though currently unpublished, and I love to watch plots develop and try to see where they are going.) Before I condemn the person who wrote that stinking review, I must say there was one part of the review that I agreed with. Abby needs more screen time! Other than that the review sucked. And I disagreed with all of it. The person who wrote it should have paid more attention. So there!  |

And what about that time where that little kid had to like help them find his father or something? Gibbs got really attached to him, and vice versa.
Reviewers do generally suck - they make stupid assumptions based on shit... like for House they were calling him a pedophile for admiring a 15 year old model - but they obviously didn't watch the ep because that was a BIG part of the MORAL of the story! The writers did it on purpose, and on the plot level, HOUSE did it on purpose.
Stupid non-fans.

Oh I completely agree with you!
SO many flashes and hints as to his past.
That episode where he gets attached to the little kid... you actually get a flash of him and his daughter working on his boat!!!

...hmm, I'd forgotten about that...has he really been working on that boat for that long? seems he should've sanded it away by now...then again, maybe that was another boat in another place where he could actually get the thing out...sorry, this post should've gone on the thread about Gibbs's boat in the Gibbs section...but I just couldn't help myself...that damn boat drives me crazy.
Anyway, may the idiot who wrote that review...um...hmm...can't think of a good curse right now (and that's a shame b/c I'm of Irish descent and we're just really good at that kinda stuff...I'll blame it on a lack of sleep).....end up on Ducky's autopsy table and have their intestines taken out while Ducky tells a story about how much he can't stand bad reviews because one time he was at a staying at a hotel in New York for a medical conference when he picked up the paper because he had wanted to see what they had written about an on going investigation (giving all the credit to the FBI, of course) when he noticed a review on a film he had recently seen...
heehee yeah, that'll do.

I felt so bad for Gibbs in this episode when he said he missed Shannon and Kelly. I almost started crying.
